Making The Car Buying Experience Pleasurable Again(651) 487~8453 |
Sell A CarWhen you talk to a dealer about the car you want to trade in, you often end up playing a kind of shell game. He quotes you an inflated value for your trade, but then makes it up through a higher price on the car you're buying. With Synergy Motor Car Company, we deal with actual figures for the market value of your car and the cost of the new one. There are several ways we can handle your trade-in. We can contact our network of wholesalers and obtain bids on your vehicle, which will give us a worst-case scenario wholesale value. Next, we have a consignment service in which we offer your car for sale on our Web site or Car Soup, with the goal of netting you $800 to $1,000 more than the wholesale bids. The amount you get for your car will show as a trade, which lowers the net cost of your new car and thereby saves you sales tax. Another option is called a courtesy trade. Let's say you have a friend or relative who is interested in buying your car. You can sell it to him through us, and have it counted as a trade-in to save sales tax. Of course, you can choose to sell your car yourself. You'd lose out on the sales tax savings, and maybe risk other problems as well. Strangers coming to your house to answer your car ad could be casing the place. Sometimes the buyer doesn't get around to completing his part of the title-transfer process. If he gets drunk and has an accident, the car is still registered to you and you may be sued. And there are lots of scams out there. We know people who have gotten e-mails saying someone was interested in buying their car but would like to pay for it with a cashier's check made out for $1,000 more. After refunding the difference, the seller finds out that the cashier's check is phony. All in all, selling through us is an easier, safer process. Because we feel a responsibility to all of our customers, including those who buy from our consignment service, we only offer cars that are in good condition. Part of our consignment process is to inspect your car. If we find something wrong, we can have it repaired or present you with other options. If necessary, we can refer you to auctions that cater to buyers willing to deal in vehicles in questionable condition. We charge a consignment fee of just $135. This includes inspection of the vehicle, detailing if needed, advertising on Car Soup, photos, etc. When we do a courtesy trade, we charge $100 to cover fees for paying off lenders, overnighting payments, etc. There's a lot of behind-the-scenes effort involved, so we feel the benefits far outweigh these modest fees. As always, our goal is to help you accomplish your goals with the least time and hassle, coupled with the maximum financial outcome.
